Reflux of Anterior Spinal Artery Predicts Recurrent Posterior Circulation Stroke in Bilateral Vertebral Artery Disease.
BACKGROUNDS AND PURPOSE Predictive value of reflux of anterior spinal artery for recurrent posterior circulation ischemia in bilateral vertebral arteries steno-occlusive disease was evaluated. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed 55 patients with symptomatic posterior circulation stroke caused by bilateral stenotic (>70%) lesions of the vertebral artery. We investigated any correlation of clin...
متن کاملPosterior spinal artery infarct.
Acute medullary syndrome developed in a patient in whom glue had been inadvertently injected into the right posterior radiculomedullary artery during endovascular occlusion of a spinal dural arteriovenous fistula at T-11. MR imaging 40 days after the procedure showed signal changes and contrast enhancement in the posterior and right lateral column at T10-11. Circumscribed signal changes in the ...

A 6‐year‐old female presented with sudden‐onset right‐sided hemiparesis with motor aphasia for the past 7 days. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain [Figure 1a] revealed acute infarct in the left parietooccipital region. Magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) [Figure 1b] and computed tomography angiogram (CTA) [Figure 2] showed narrowing of bilateral supraclinoid internal carotid arteries (ICAs)...
متن کاملDirect emergence of the dorsospinal artery from the aorta supplying the anterior spinal artery: report of two cases.
We report two cases of an isolated dorsospinal artery that emerged directly from the aorta to supply the anterior spinal artery, which in one case had another blood supply on the opposite side, in a lower position. It is important to identify this anatomic variant, otherwise spinal angiography might be incomplete, especially when the isolated dorsospinal artery supplies the anterior spinal artery.
متن کاملRisk of rupture of small anterior communicating artery aneurysms is similar to posterior circulation aneurysms.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE According to the International Study of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms (ISUIA), anterior circulation (AC) aneurysms of <7 mm in diameter have a minimal risk of rupture. It is general experience, however, that anterior communicating artery (AcoA) aneurysms are frequent and mostly rupture at <7 mm. The aim of the study was to assess whether AcoA aneurysms behave differen...
